Nationwide, hundreds of people die from carbon monoxide poison every year, and thousands are treated in hospitals. As the snow piles up in Vermont, make sure you clear snow from floor heating vents. A blocked vent can cause deadly carbon monoxide (CO) to come back into the home. If you lose power and use a generator always run it outside and away from windows and vents.
